Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of my wonderful blogging friends. I want to take this time to thank all of you who stayed in contact me through some difficult times last year (2012). Besides my mother being ill I had other problems with family members which I can not get into. Though it was a stressful time I was blessed knowing the Lord was with me through it all and that many of you sent your love. Thank You.:)

Now, I also have been thinking about card making, what is the style I love the most. Many of the things I bought during the years have not been used. I have found I love clean and simple the most.
Is this not elegant? :) I copied this from Dawn Olchefske . Then I found another site to show how to do the  Su textured embossing folders so they would not crease. Instead of using the B plate, you make a shim the size of the embossed item. Works like a charm.
I made several of these, since I needed many thank you cards.

Recipe
paper: Flourishes classic ivory
Stamp: Fresh vintage, because I care (sentiment)
Other:  SU textured impressions (Marcos)

Well, you all have a wonderful New Year

Friend

Proverbs17:17 says "A friend loves at all times" now this love is not like the worlds love, which is conditional, "you do right by me, I'll do right by you" type of love. This love is the 1Co.13:4 love. Love is patient, love is kind, it is not easily angered, holds no records of wrong. I have been blessed to have a friend for 30 plus years and we have been through many things together, and our friendship is stronger today then when we first began, because we stayed true to the word of God. "To love one another unconditionally". Even as Christians, not many know how to be a true friend, it takes faith and the willingness to surrender all to Christ, who said "I did not come to be served, but to serve". Friendship is truly a blessing.

This card is for the Stamp TV sketch challenge.

stamp: stamping up "Dear Friend"
Paper: Gold shimmer by papertrey, design paper by Anna Griffen, Gina K luxury white.
This is gold embossed and colored with pencil and gamsol, and the sentiment is computer generated. Used nesties

A good neighbor

As I was thinking on what to do for the "Stampin Sisters in Christ" I decided on this card that I plan on giving my neighbor for Christmas. I know many people think Christmas is the time to give but my neighbor gives all year long. I work second shift and get home at 1 am, when I get home she sometimes have little goodies waiting for me at my stairs, a pot of chili, cookies wrapped in bows, or chocolate treats. Something to let me know she is thinking about me. I have learned a lot from her of being a good neighbor. Tho she will say I am the one who blesses her, she is truely a gift from God to me.

This challenge was for "not hording" to use those things that you keep saving. Mine were rhinestones. :) and yes I saw one is missing, which has been replaced.
The stamp is from Stamping Up "Wish for Peach" stamped and embossed cut out with my nesties, the paper is Anna Griffin, the sentiment is computer generated.

Changing Times

They want to call the Christmas tree a "Holiday tree" They want to make Christmas a "Holiday" Well Christmas was not a holiday for Christ, who suffered and died for the sins of the world. Christmas is the day (may not be the exact) that the birth of the Savior occurred. The long awaited Messiah who would take away the sins of the world for all who would believe in Him and obey Him. Christmas is a reminder of the promises of God in the old testament that has been fulfilled in Christ His Son. That is why I just love this stamp set by Stamping Up "Holy Triptych".
Jesus is Christmas!!
Recipe stamps Holy Triptych by stamping up, sentiment dollar store stamp :). used cuttle bug, nesties oval.

Mish-Ka-Dew

I love this word, Mish-ka-dew. I work with many diverse people from around the world, and one day this guy said he was having Mish-ka-dew for dinner, I asked him what is that? It is a stew with all the left overs from the week, a little of this and a little of that, and I have been using that word to replace " a mess" :). First I had a ribbon on this, then decided against it and forgot that tape was on the inside and now the card is taped shut :), second as I was putting on the layers ever so right, I realized when I was done, the card is upside down, the opening is at the top. :). So this is my Mish-Ka-Dew card "A Mesh"
The stamp is Touch of nature by stamping up, I stamped the flower and used my stamp ma jing to aline the butterfly. This is colored with copics, the border was done with touch of nature and black embossing powder.
Well I do hope you all have wonderful weekend

Fathers Day

Today is Fathers Day, and though many celebrate their love for their Fathers, there are many who do not have one. I grew up with out a real father, and yet I have the best Father of all! God! Who has been a good and faithful Father to me, it is He that raised me and trained me in the way to go, and He blessed me with a gift of faith not only to believe His Word to me but His leading by the Holy Spirit. My Father is the first one I speak to in the morning and the last one I speak to at night, I look up to Him, I seek Him for counsel, I share with Him all my hurts and fears, I want Him to be proud of me, I do not want to bring shame to His Name, when I do wrong He is the first one I go to, for He see's every thing I do and there is no sense of thinking you can hide anything from Him :). And as the world celebrates their fathers today, those of you who do not have one, remember, God is our Father, and we are daughters of a King..

Recipe: I used 2 stamping up stamps to make this, "Organic grace" and "garden silhouettes", they were embossed, used my nesties, MS punch, and basic Grey dp

Have a blessed day

Grandmothers Wisdom

Well it is raining cats and dogs here in RI and still very cool, I will be glad when we get some warm weather.
My grandmother who has long passed away was the spiritual matriarch of the family. She was a walking book of proverbs. One was a glass of water half filled, she asked me, "what do you see" is it half empty or half full? Because what you see today is how you will see tomorrows trials and troubles all your life! With God in your life that glass is half full, you have hope, you have trust in the Savior that called you by name to be His that through all your trials and troubles there is a divine purpose and though it may not feel good it will do good for us who believe. I saw that glass half full and in all my trials I had a spirit of joy because I had a divine well that would never run dry, I never saw my life as going empty but being filled up by the power of God's almighty Spirit that dwells in me because I believed.
Stamp by Stamping Up "Paris in Spring" colored with markers (bic) stickles, liquid pearls on the dog, crystal effects on the scooter and glasses.

Blessing

When I was making this card for my mother I was thinking about a blessing, and the old hymn, "Count your blessings name them one by one, count your many blessings see what God has done." Many times our complaining drowns out all the life lessons that God is trying to show us. . I work with a person I did not like, and it was impressed on me that this person was a blessing in my life, HOW?? The word of God says "iron sharpens iron" it gave me an opportunity to pour out the love of Christ as Christ pours it out on me daily. It gave me a chance to work out my christian principles by loving unconditionally, love is a choice not a feeling, so this person who I did not like, was a blessing in my life. I have learned in my many years in Christ, that all things good or bad works out for the good of those who are in Christ Jesus, if we would just stop complaining and realize that our life is a blessing and we are called to be a blessing to others.

I made this card for the Gina K sketch challenge, try it out because you can win free stamps over there :), no I haven't won anything yet but this is my second card. This stamp is from Stamping Up "from the garden" It is hugh. This card is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, gold embossed, colored with pencil and gamsol, and markers. I used papertrey raspberry fizz and basic grey bitter sweet.
Have a Blessed Day, and Count your Blessings

Happy New Year

Well another new year is here, and I must say that 2008 just flew by. I learned so much in 2008 from all you creative and computer savey people :), I pray 2009 will be a continues growth in the things of Christ. That I will be more like him and less of my self. The things I want to do in 2009... Luke 22: 61 says that after Peter denied Jesus the third time and the rooster crowed, that "Jesus turned and looked at him". That has always cut me to the core of my soul, because the fact is that what ever we say or do whether in public or alone, He watches us and see's all. I want my Heavenly Father to be proud of me, I want to stay mindful of the cost that was paid for me. I want to continue this race with power and victory. I want to live for Jesus :). God Bless you all in 2009.

This card was the paper planet sketch challenge sk122708, I embossed the embrace life stamp. Used my cuttle bug and nesties, dont you just love these toys :). Hope you like it.
