When I was making this card for my mother I was thinking about a blessing, and the old hymn, "Count your blessings name them one by one, count your many blessings see what God has done." Many times our complaining drowns out all the life lessons that God is trying to show us. . I work with a person I did not like, and it was impressed on me that this person was a blessing in my life, HOW?? The word of God says "iron sharpens iron" it gave me an opportunity to pour out the love of Christ as Christ pours it out on me daily. It gave me a chance to work out my christian principles by loving unconditionally, love is a choice not a feeling, so this person who I did not like, was a blessing in my life. I have learned in my many years in Christ, that all things good or bad works out for the good of those who are in Christ Jesus, if we would just stop complaining and realize that our life is a blessing and we are called to be a blessing to others.
I made this card for the Gina K sketch challenge, try it out because you can win free stamps over there :), no I haven't won anything yet but this is my second card. This stamp is from Stamping Up "from the garden" It is hugh. This card is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2, gold embossed, colored with pencil and gamsol, and markers. I used papertrey raspberry fizz and basic grey bitter sweet.
Have a Blessed Day, and Count your Blessings

This is gorgeous Becky! The image fits on your size card so much better than the one I made with the regular size cs base. Your 'blossom' is so majestic done with the gold embossing! Lovely message along with your card.
Hugs!
Wow.. is that embossed? I love it. Colored really nice too!

I love the meaning behind this card. I, too, need to give life a "blessed" out-look. Thank you for the reminder. This card is gorgeous!!! that flower is beautiful and I love the gold embossing...it really pops out at you.
this is the first time I have seen this stamp used- it is awesome!
What a wonderful paper choice to coordinate with this stamp. It's neat how the pattern echoes the detail lines in the flower's petals and leaves. Huge is right -- I've never tried a card this large. It's quite impressive.
Becky, this is absolutely gorgeous! LOVE the gold embossing! Beautiful coloring, too!!
This is such a gorgeous card! I love your image. Thanks for the heads up about the sketch challenge. I love Gina K. stamps!!
Becky, you asked if I used brads at the bottom of my cards. I used tiny colored rhinestones to embellish the birdcage as well as the ribbon. Thanks for the sweet comment!
Your card looks so exquisite...you are so right, we are all blessed.
Oh Becky, this is just so beautiful. I love the simplicity and beauty of your card, the image is a perfect focus and the DP is wonderful. Your hymn says it all! I want you to know that I will still be a faithful follower, between your work and my Hercules (heehee) I can't ever leave!

I love the size card you used - it works well with this image!!
I so struggle with this concept of loving those that I do not like and hold a grudge against...aren't we all a work in progress in Him? :)
Becky, I don't know how you found me but thanks for stopping by. I so like this sentiment. This is just the thing I have been looking for. Where can I get it?
this is such a gorgeous card! I love this stamp, have it, but have never inked it up! shame on me! thanks for the encouragemnet to get it inky! and thank you for the reminder about that beautiful hymn!
a dear friend sent me an email last week that said God sends us people who will hurt us. I had to stop and tell Him thank you for that. We only grow when we can let it ALL go and lean upon Him - but gosh, that is soooooo hard to do!
