Safe In His Arms

Good Morning all.

Well I am off for 2 weeks, temp. layoff. We once had 4 buildings filled with people and programs and now we are down to 2 buildings and we are getting ready to close this one done and move to the one remaining. That means the company has layoff permanently  over   3000 people in the past 10 years.  Things are not looking good here in RI.

But, I know that my Father in Heaven will take care of me, I am safe in HIS ARMS, HE is the one who opens and closes doors, HE is the one who gives us favor, He is the one who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob is my Father, and what He did for them and their children He will still do today if we believe and trust HIM, we will be in perfect peace.

That is why I hopped on done to Newport to see my BF Karen yesterday to make cards :). We always have such a great time together, talking & creating. She has some great stuff and a very creative mind.

I made this card for the sketch challenge over at splitcoast stampers

And this is the one she made for my son

These cards was made with the Willington bear decoupage kit, and the card base is from SU. The time piece is from Tim Holtz.

Well that is it for me, remember me in your prayers. Hugs :)

I'm so sorry about your job situation Becky! It sure makes things hard. My husband is in construction and gets laid off quite often...we know they come, but you can never seem to get used to it. I will be glad when he is able to retire! :)

The bear images are soooo darn cute!!! I love the top card with the added clock accent and what fun papers too!! These are brilliant masculine designs and I know your son will be happy to receive his! :) Have a great weekend friend! HUGS

Becky, these are just awesome cards. Love that bear reading the newspaper and the clock makes it all look so realistic. And, how adorable is the one your friend made for your son.

Sounds like a bad situation where you work. Hopefully, it will settle down and no more people lose their jobs.

The times they are certainly changing Becky and it adds so much to everyone's stress and uncertainty about the future.
I recently have seen a number of my ex students who have completed high school. A few years ago my question "what are you planning to do?" would have had bubbling with excitement answers. Now I get a shrug and an almost whispered, "I don't know!"
I feel so sad for them and any response feels hollow.
I hope that there are other doors out there just waiting for you to open. I will be thinking of you.
In the meantime your cards are sweet and hopefully have made your son smile.
Hugs to you
Julie

Oh, my sweet Becky, I'm praying for you and your jobs situation and the many who have already lost jobs. What a blessing to hear how God has strengthened you and will continue to provide for all your needs. Yes, I love the verse that Maxine mentioned from Jeremiah 17:7, "But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him." Oh, such a promise! So glad you got to "play" with your best friend Karen and that you were refreshed. Your cards are absolutely darling! I just love bears, and your son is going to absolutely LOVE his!! Totally love them both! Hugs and praying, sweet friend!

Becky, so sorry to hear about your job situation. Jim and I have been there many times...
Jim was stationed in Newport...and I was so supposed to go stay there with him...but he got his orders to ship out so I never did get to see RI but he said it was a beautiful place.
Both cards are done so nicely. Yours and Karens...I really enjoy doing 3d cards, and have some Wellington images that I haven't made into a card yet. You are inspiring me.
Sorry, I have not been around much commenting. I hope to change that after I have my second eye surgery, and hopefully see better. God Bless, Jill
