O My Soul

PS 42:5 "Why are you down cast, O my soul? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him my Savior and my God". Depression and sadness can seem to come out of no where, it is nothing new to the children of God, but we learn from David how to break out and break through. They didn't have Prozac or other antidepressants in OT times, they had to praise their way out. When a dark cloud surrounds my soul my mind is alert and in- tuned enough to the things of God to put on praise music and begin praising Him, and after a few moments my soul is filled with peace, joy and steadfastness to continue my journey with hope. The next time your soul is down, put on worship music and begin worshiping and praising then watch how the darkness will flee from such a bright light...

This stamp is from Lindy's gang and this is "Sad Sally songbird" I just love her, I colored her in pencil and oms used nesties and put glaze on her eyes. The scripture is computer generated

What a darling card! That bird really does look "downcast"....
Your scripture comments are so thoughtful and uplifting. To help get myself out of a depressed attitude, I have found that singing or humming a favorite hymn or praise song works like a charm! I can't get lost in negative thoughts with my Lord on my mind and tongue!

Oh that poor little bird! I would sing some worship songs to her but my voice would make her feel worse! It is true that sing songs of worship to God can lift the soul. It takes the focus off of ourselves and our worries and puts the focus on Him and His glory and wonder.
