Iris

This is a card I made for my mother. I send her a card every week and she displays them on a large table in the entrance way so every one can see them and she sends me a card every week :)because of my illness, some sweet, some down right comical. Well I just found out after knowing her all these years that her real name is Iris, every one, family, friends and I has called her Josephine, I was shocked when she told me, she only waited 83 years to tell me her real name :) So I made this with her real name, it will be the only thing that does have it. :)
Thanks for coming by

What a sweet weekly gesture that you both do for each other. I love how you are still finding out things about your mom after all these years. My mom's bday is July 27th...or so we thought. She is actually born sometime in June! haha! I love how she proudly displays your cards, and I can see why.

Pink, black and gold is a nice color combo.

My mother-in-law's real name is Ruby. But apparently she hated that name so for decades has gone by her middle name, Catherine. I found out her real name in my genealogy research. Ooops! Let the cat out of the bag!

That is really nice that you send cards every week. My mom doesn't go by her real name either except for official stuff.

What a story, Becky! That would make an awesome scrapbook page ... ;-)

I love the "card game" you two play. What a neat way to say "I love you" every week! And the card is beautiful, BTW. She's blessed to have you for a daughter!

How lovely that you and your mother do this for each other and your card is lovely! I wish I had been making cards while my mother was still alive, she would have loved them and shown them to all her friends in the assisted living complex. She did see some of my scrapbooks, though and liked the work I did. Cherish the time you have with your mother!
Hugs!
